In the next 30 days

In the next thirty days...my first baby will turn three. Three?!? And my new baby will be eight months old. 8 months?!?

How did this happen? I can't believe the rate at which time is passing.

Life with my kids just keeps getting better and better.

Corth Carolina

We took a vacation to Carolina Beach, North Carolina. It was awesome. We rented a condo for a week that was right on the beach. The goal was to take it easy and enjoy being together as a family. I'm happy to report it was a success!

Here are some pictures of the trip.


We started off bright and early. A big thanks to Doug for taking us to the airport at 5:30am!





Our flight from Detroit to Raleigh was delayed due to mechanical problems, so they put the whole flight on a different plane.


Carter got to ride on a plane, train and bus all in the same day. He was pretty excited!


He couldn't wait to get to the beach...but couldn't keep his eyes open with the flash. (This was the best picture I got)


The view from our condo. Happy Mother's Day to me! We saw dolphins playing in the water. It was so cool!






We went out to dinner at this little Thai place on Monday. Best fried rice ever. An anonymous person paid for our meal. That's never happened to me before. I couldn't believe it.






Tuesday we went to the aquarium and Carter loved it! We got to get really close to an infant sea turtle and I got to touch a shark!








We went to the beach almost everyday. Katelyn would sit on a towel and Carter would play in the sand. Shawn and I took turns playing in the water. I didn't take too many picture at the beach because I didn't want my phone to get sandy.

We went to Kure Beach Pier. This pelican was so close I could have touched it. We got to watch people fish off the pier. The guy next to us caught a little shark and showed it to Carter before he threw it back.



We went to eat at this tasty Italian place called Freddy's. It was some of the best food I've had in a long time. Too bad our kids were being awful and we didn't get to enjoy it.



Friday was our last day so we spent the day at the beach and then went to the boardwalk. Everyone said to get Britts Donuts. They were soooo good. I think I had seven that night.








We let Carter pick a ride...he chose the carousel, and then he picked the sleigh. He definitely likes things nice and easy.


We have him a dollar to spend in the arcade and he spent it all on this one car racing game. I was pressing the gas pedal while he steered. It was hilarious. He had so much fun he started to cry when I made him leave the arcade.



And just like that we were home. It was fun and relaxing and we survived flying and going on vacation with two kids. I'm so glad we went.

Every couple of days Carter asks if we can go back to "corth carolina". I think that means he had a good time :)
