This Year's Pre-Christmas Essentials

So I've been planning this post for a while, I even took pictures in preparation for this post, and then...well We got so busy with the Christmas festivities I didn't even create it! So, I'm doing it now. Enjoy!

We made Gingerbread Houses with our friends. Well, Shawn and I bought a kit, and made a Train...
We Decorated our Real Live Christmas treeWe have Advent Calendars to count down to Christmas Day, one for each of us--The Felt one for Shawn from his Mom, and the Chocolate one for me!There is also an honorary puzzle at Christmas time. This Mickey is one of those Photomosaic Puzzles...It took me two weeks! By far the hardest puzzle I've ever done, except for that Elvis puzzle I worked on my second year in college...Ugh!
And of course-the Lights at Temple Square! We had a wonderful time with Jay and Heather. We were there the perfect length of time, we saw everything without freezing to death!

Ski Season has OFFICIALLY Started

That's right folks, Ski season has officially started! I don't ski personally, but today was Shawn's first ski day of the season. I don't usually admit it, but I enjoy when Shawn goes skiing. It gives me some down-time, and some "put the house back together time". I was able to clean the bathroom and do the dishes. Then, I had the special opportunity of going Christmas shopping for Shawn. It never ceases to amaze my how hard it is to get time away from Shawn to go shopping. We're always together. (Which I love, very much) But, practically the only time Shawn willingly leaves me is to go skiing. So today I am grateful for ski days. Now, if only the presents I wanted for Shawn were in stock! He is so excited for Christmas, its adorable! (And, well I'll admit it, Contagious) Everyday he checks for presents and shakes them. Now I'm starting to worry he won't like what I've got him, but I guess we'll find out soon. Christmas is only 4-5 days away!!

Happy Holidays--It's the Busiest time of the Year!

With Thanksgiving came the "Holidays" and we hit the ground running and haven't stopped yet. It goes something like this:

Thanksgiving at the Brocks,Visit the Brysons too, Drive to Roosevelt, Watch Michael Martin Murphey (Woo!), Drive home, Contemplate the world we live in, Go to Relief Society Christmas Dinner, Have a fun getaway to Zions, Ride in the car, Hot-tub, Hate that everything closes at 8pm, Hike Angel's Landing, Eat at Blondie's, Hike to a lookout point to watch the sunset, Buy microwave Lasagna, Hot-tub, Watch Movies, Go to Breakfast and then to Church, Drive home, Wish for snow, Feel Sore!, Finish Final Projects, Write final papers, Go to the Nutcracker, Attend the Jon Schmidt Christmas Concert, Drive to the Temple in a snow storm for a 5 hour excursion, Buy a LIVE Christmas Tree, Decorate it, Start a puzzle (to get the season off right!), Go to the Crandall's for a sweet Christmas party, Give a coconut, yam & puzzle for a white elephant gift, Get a stuffed goose and Ernest movie collection, Get to see Josh & Tori and their cute new baby, Love being with friends, family, the snow, and ultimately Each Other!!

Just shove all of that into our normal daily routine...It has been a blast, and its only half-way through December!! So hopefully (Cross your fingers) more posts with pictures to come!
