Taylorsville Dayzz

On Saturday evening Shawn and I had the priviledge of attending "Taylorsville Dayzz". It was sweet! There were all these different booths and rides and there were two stages. One of which had a Neil Diamond impersonator. This guy really looked and sounded just like him! It was fabulous. Shawn and I got churros, and we splurged and got a plate of Fry-Bread with honey butter. Talk about delicious! Then it was time for the firework show. The Neil Diamond guy sang, "We're coming to America," with the fireworks, the timing was probably dead on. Then just normal music played through the speakers for the rest of the show. I love fireworks. They are so amazing and so fun went put to music. It was a really great, almost free evening.
Ahh, here I am with the ever necessary Port-a-Potty's in the distant background.
Shawn and I are becoming masters at the self portrait. I really like this picture of us. We took one other picture, but I don't know if Shawn will let me post it. It was us in the dark right before the fireworks. I was totally excited because it kinda turned out. You could actually see our faces!

Okay, so maybe it wasn't as good as I thought...we are in there promise!

Oh, and Say hello to the Gingerbread Man!

Rafting Pictures

Its difficult to take pictures when you are actually on the river, however there are some companies who take pictures...and some people in our group took pictures while they watched. I'm waiting for those. Luckily my trusty Photographer husband took pictures of people while we were at camp. I truly am horrible at remembering to take pictures...
This is my Sister and her Super cute daughter
Yep, this is my neice posing next to the life-vests. She is absolutely the cutest thing ever!
This is the tent...We're Coleman fans
And this...this is beauty at its best. This is our raft. (Well the front of it anyway) My pride and joy. For some reason blogger won't load more pictures. I'll try again later. I hope you enjoy!

Take me to the RIVER!!!

It is time. Today we are leaving to go River Rafting on the Snake river by Jackson Hole/Alpine, Wyoming. It pretty much is my favorite thing in the whole world and I cannot wait!! My family has been rafting this river for probably 10 years. First with Bud, and now my Dad has his own raft. Did I mention that I love it? I can almost smell the river. I wonder what adventures we'll have...I can't stop thinking about it. Its just a short trip, but sometimes those turn out to be just right. My only complaint is that I only get to go up to The River once this year. Our summer is so packed I don't know if Shawn and I will be able to fit in another trip. I don't mind too much though because Chile is on the To Do List! Now, if I can only make it through the day...

Secondhand Serenade

Thanks to my friend Cameron from work, We got 2 free tickets to the Secondhand Serenade concert at Thanksgiving Point. As far as concerts go, it was a pretty sweet one. A guy named John Allred played first, he's got some potential. Then Ferras played, he totally rocked out on the piano. Shawn and I both like his music alot...Shawn even bought the album off iTunes the next day (although, the cd is totally different and we happen to like just him and the piano better). Then it was time for Seconhand Serenade!

This is the lead singer playing one of the acoustic songs, all by himself on stage.
We decided we should probably document ourselves being at the concert with the stage in the background...it was our 11 month anniversary that day.
This is the whole band rocking out. I personally thought this was a pretty good picture with my little camera phone.
At the end of the show the drummer threw his sticks out into the crowd and Shawn got one! I was so excited!! He wanted to see if he could sell it to some diehard fan, but I wouldn't let him. I've been to so many concerts and always wanted something from the band, and now I have something! (Even if it isn't a band I'm totally obsessed with) This is just me trying to be artistic. It was great to get out to a concert, sing your heart out with the band, and be outside on the grass. I guess I only have one thing left to say: "It was Rockin'!"

Maple Grove

So I decided I must be a night time blogger. Probably because I'm a night time person. Anywho... We went camping!! For Real this time!!! Our friends, Zach and Cory invited us to go camping at Maple Grove. It was awesome. I was little worried when I looked it up on Google Maps and it was butt in the middle of nowhere, but it was beautiful. I would love to go back. It's nestled up against the mountains, surrounded by trees and there is this great stream that runs through the whole campground. The stream has little rainbow trout swimming in it. (I would have brought my sweet Superman fishing pole had I known this) It was great weather--it only rained a little on Saturday morning. Then it was time to play!
This is the view of the Mountain side from our campsite. Pretty amazing huh?
Using the $3.00 Bat and Baseball Shawn bought at Walmart, we played a little game of baseball in the meadow. It was Boys vs. Girls, and the girls totally got beat, but we had a ton of fun in the process.
This is Zach and Cory, they are so cute!
This is Brian and Brittney and their sweet baby Asher.
Talk about one chill kid. He put us all to shame. This kid is definitely cooler than me!These are our newly made friends Stratton and Erin!
And...none other than the original goof-balls. (We made everyone pose so I could blog about it, even ourselves)
Did I mention Zach brought his guns and we went shooting? I don't usually like guns, but I just shot a stationary clay pigeon for the FIRST TIME in my life. I was super excited, so I made Shawn take a picture.

Mmm...Check out that amazing shot ;)

Camping? Rejected!

Okay, So last weekend (May 30) Shawn and I wanted to go camping. Just a quick little overnight trip up Farmington Canyon. We were rejected. We got off work, hurried and packed our camping gear, grabbing only the bare essentials, and started driving North. My sister invited us to watch Horton Hears a Who at the Kaysville Theater and we were trying to make it to the 7:30pm showing. Luckily I called my good friend Tyler Call, whose family happens to own the theater, to check how long the previews would be, so we could know how much time we really had. Against all odds we made it before the previews ended. We found my sister and my niece, but there weren't enought seats in a row so ultimately we had to split up. It was an adorable movie and the popcorn complemented the whole experience. *In case you didn't know, Kaysville Theater's Popcorn is THE best. Ever.* Okay Okay back to the Camping story.

Shawn didn't want to drive Betsy up the canyon, so I called my Dad to ask if we could borrow his Jeep. He said yes, and we drove up to my parents to switch cars and get on our way with only a brief stop to enjoy some Trifle (? I'm not sure if that's the right word-This sweet layered jello dessert my Dad made). We switched our gear to the Jeep, stopped at Smith's for some firewood and began our journey up the mountain. At this time it was probably 10pm or a little later. We drove up the canyon to where the payment ends and were stopped by a Park Ranger. He said they were having a security check point, and needed Shawn's driver's license and registration. We complied, he looked at it, and said, Hold On I just want to check something. Shawn and I looked at each other and knew they were checking for a Stolen Vehicle Report because my Dad's last name consequently the name on the registration; didn't match Shawn's driver's license. As we waited, we noticed the Nine (9) Police vehicles and men standing to the side with their gear belts and guns strapped to their legs. What on earth was going on? This had never happened to either one of us before when adventuring up Farmington Canyon. The Ranger came back and said, so whose car is this? I said, my Dad's, we didn't want to drive our car. and He said, Oh Okay, it didn't come back stolen, so I was just wondering. Then he proceeded to tell us that all the campsites were full, but if we wanted we could check. Shawn and I looked at each other and thought, not worth the hassle. We turned around and went home. We decided to camp in our Parent's back yard, specifically Shawn's Parents backyard, because it would be funnier with the white fence in the background...as my Parent's backyard looks like a forest. So we wanted to go camping, but got rejected. Which really was too bad because it would have been a beautiful night to camp, but at least we got to sleep in our tent in the backyard, under the swing-set!
This is Shawn trying to do cool effects with the camera at night...kinda freaky huh?
This is us inside the tent ready for sleep...sort of. We weren't really tired.
But apparently (if this photo works and it may not) I was scared!
Well that was our first camping adventure of the season and I'm sure more will come.

The Photos are Here!!

Shawn fixed the computer so the photos would load. We aren't the most photogenic people, and we don't take that many photos, so I apologize for the limited number of pictures. Happy Birthday to me--check em out! This is me packing to go to our hotel room at the Anniversay Inn for my birthday. If you'll note my straight hair from my sweet hair cut, and the super cute baby blue Patagonia fleece Shawn gave me.
The cutest picture of us in the room the next morning.
And this is a picture of the balcony in our room (Shawn is at the base of the stairs). I have to admit-It was pretty sweet. Well those were my favorite pictures from my Birthday. I'll post different pictures of other adventures to come.
