Just attempted to blog from my phone--That obviously didn't work--I'll try to fix that post when I can.

Hello Parenthood!

Having a kid is hard.

Yes, the actual process of birthing a child is hard...but that is a post for another day. Right now I'm talking about taking care of a living breathing eating sleeping pooping crying human being. It's hard!

We came home from the hospital a week ago today. I can't believe this little guy is actually mine-let alone that it's been a week! I am surviving alright and the kid seems to still be alive so that is good. Shawn has work and school today which means I'm going on 12 hours of just me and the kiddo...with a routine something like this: Eat. Snuggle. Sleep. Cry. Change diaper. Repeat. With a few variations to keep things interesting.

Hello Parenthood!

BUT. Even though some days feel long (today especially) I would not trade this for anything. This little boy has stolen my heart and I love every part of him. He is so beautiful. And most definitely straight from heaven.

So when I'm exhausted or bored or tired or lonely or an
emotional mess...I just have to look at his adorable face and I feel better.

Our Summer (so far) In Pictures!

I finally hooked up my new camera and loaded the pictures to the computer. (I figured I'd better practice before the baby came...so there wouldn't be any mishaps!) Enjoy!

Slightly Disappointed...

I woke up at 5:30 this morning, to a sharp pain, cramping and a tight belly. I thought "This has got to be it--that definitely got my attention!" 25 minutes later it happened again. 15 minutes later it happened again. 20 minutes later it happened again. I was positive I was having contractions, and they'd never come that often before...I was convince I was in the early stages of labor. Shawn woke up to his alarm, I asked him, "Are you ready to be a Daddy? Cuz its starting!" and told him what I had experienced. He said, "20 minutes apart? Oh good I can keep sleeping" I told him I was going to try and sleep some more too...and that's what I did... And then my so called contractions slowly faded to nothing over the course of the day. A few random cramps here or there, but not stronger, longer, or closer together. I was so convinced the baby was coming today. I just knew it. I even took the day off work. And then nothing. What is the deal?? I was so badly for this little guy to come on his own, I really don't want to be induced, but the clock is ticking! Can someone please tell him its okay to come out now? We're ready for him. The crib came yesterday, the nursery is in a semi-ready place.
"Really Baby, its okay, we're waiting for you..." Trying to do so patiently, and basically failing. Please come soon!!

Still Here

Yeah. No baby yet. I'm rooting for today/tonight/tomorrow. Any time in the near future would be ok with me. We went ot the Dr. this morning. Everything is looking pretty good, no worries there. I hope everyone had a Happy 4th! I loved it. Maybe I'll even post about it...unless of course the baby comes before I get around to it ;) Cross your fingers!

July 2, 2010.

I am officially 40 weeks pregnant. Today is my "Due Date". I laid in bed this morning willing this little boy to make his move and come out to see us. Nothing happened. I'll keep you posted, but he seems pretty content in there. Oh well...there is always tomorrow :)
