I FAILED. What now?

I failed my emissions test, well okay my car failed, but it still feels like a personal failure. My car--the beautiful beat up little thing that has survived so much failed yesterday. We're working to solve the problem as soon as humanly possible. Its just difficult when you live and work in Salt Lake, and your mechanic is in Layton and closes by the time you get off. My car is the equivalent of my baby, what am I supposed to do?? (if that statement means anything then I am definitely NOT ready to have children!) It doesn't help that Shawn left today for a backpacking trip with his Dad and some buddies, so I'm left alone to handle this mess. Good thing I have a father and brothers who can help. My car better pass, because I need it, and have no idea what I would do without it. So, just remember, give your cars a little bit more love, its not their fault gas is so expensive, or they don't breathe out clean air.

So I don't forget.

When I drive to work I think. Sometimes I think the most profound things, but then I get to work and starting going and forget. Today will be different.

The Soul finds JOY in ACTION.

Think about that for a minute...ok sorry I just didn't want to forget.

9 Months and counting

So this past Friday was April 11, 2008...which happens to be 9 months since Shawn and I got married. How the time has flown by! I swear time just goes by faster the older you get--and I don't even think I'm that old! It was a really great weekend in a relaxing kind of way. A little too much time in the car for my taste, but it was still good. We decided to go to a wedding reception of one of Shawn's friends/mission companions in Idaho. This meant that we got to spend time with one of my favorite people, My Cousin. It was good to see her, although it was for too short a time and we didn't get to talk as much as we both would have liked, but it was a good excuse to see each other.

Anyway, I did a lot of thinking. Its one of those things I do best. Life is always moving, ever changing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It just makes it harder sometimes. It's important to realize we influence the direction of our lives. Yesterday I finished reading this book titled, "The Truth About Forever." It wasn't my favorite book by any means, but it had a good message. You decide how your forever will be and it starts with today. I've been doing way to much sitting, and not enough of what I would really love. I don't want regrets, I don't think anyone does and if they do--how weird are they?? I'm not saying I don't want mistakes, or that I have to have the perfect life to be happy. That's not it at all. I just want to be able to look back at my life and think "Yeah, I'm glad I did that, I learned and grew so much from that experience." I guess what I'm trying to say here is...you can't have that perspective if you didn't do anything and just let your life pass you by. I don't want that. So I guess I'd better start doing.

Are you Unique?

Shawn emailed me "Demotivators" today and this was one of them. Although it didn't make me laugh the hardest, it stood out the most. And so I am posting it. If you want to see more, just ask.

Good News...

Ok... so I know I just posted on here... But guess what!? I just got a temporary assignment at work as an Analyst! Yes that's right... I'll be leaving this sad little world of Tech/Customer support that I live in! Hopefully I'll find another job before I have to come back! Ok.. Love youall

And So It Began...

To all my Peeps out there in Cyberworld I'd like to throw a "Shout Out".

That was awkward... I'm glad that's over. So I've began my blogging career once before. It was short lived and really kind of a flop. Melissa however is dedicated... and seems to have a little time on her hands for this kinda thing... so it'll turn out great.

I'm at work. It's fun to talk to people from all over the country ever couple minutes. All the accents and genuinely kind people make it worth it. Then there's those other people who make me think this world really is a sad place.

Alright.. I'm off to brave this thing they call work at American Express... God Bless.

And So it Begins...

Well, This is it. I've decided to start blogging. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it. I know one thing--Carla will be excited! She almost started this for me. I can't make any promises that my blogs will be interesting, but I can say it will be a view into my life and my head and if that isn't a treat, Well, I don't know what is!
