Denver.. As in John Denver?

We make it to Denver! Mark Tuttle has called and says he's on his way... We're stuck here in Denver though due to bad weather in Atlanta! Keep your fingers crossed that we make it out of here!

Here at Last!

Ladies and Gents the big day is here at last! That's right... we're getting ready to walk out the door as we speak. And where might we be going you might ask? CHILE! I can't even begin to tell you how unbelievable stoked we are to get out of here! Ok... I might be a little more excited than Melissa, but come one! Who doesn't want to go to Chile? Anyways... Life is awesome! We're heading down with Mark Weinberg and Mark Tuttle. Amazing fellas in their own rights, so this trip should be pretty much amazing.

Brock's Bear Lake Extravaganza!

This past weekend was the annual Brock Bear Lake vacation. It started off a little slow, but by Friday afternoon we were up there having fun. Thanks to Carly's husband Tyler, we were able to go boating all weekend. (Thanks Croslands!) Saturday was spent on the water and on the beach. We even convinced Carrie to take a Safe relaxing ride on the tube. The water was too rough to wakeboard, but the family did rent a Jetski for 2 hours--which provided either a fun or scary ride, depending on your attitude. Shawn LOVES it. Me...not so much. Sunday we had the opportunity of just lounging around the condo, as "the Devil owns the water on Sunday". We had some great family togetherness time, especially playing Bocce Ball. It was really fun, and surprisingly competitive (Go Red Team!). Monday we planned to go boating, but got rained out, so we all just headed home early. Needless to say it was a great weekend, and not long enough!

1 Whole Year!

1 Whole Year! Yes.. that's right. I Shawn am Blogging about our Anniversary. Probably because it was so awesome Melissa is still recovering from all our activities days later now... In all actuality we had a really good time. We went up to Snowbird and just got away from the city. It was SO incredible and awesome to be out of the heat.

Here we are getting ready to eat year old cake. The frosting is so thick on that guy that it was actually not that bad! Preserved by the frosting.. who'd have thunk.

Melissa took me to an amazing little restaurant hidden in a basement up in Holladay. We snapped some shots of the table next to us but can't decided which shot is better... What's your vote?

Talk about Irony. We were married 7/11/07. We stayed in room 711. No... I didn't request it that way.

While we were at Snowbird there was a BlueGrass festival. Man it was awesome... there were people, music and Guitars EVERYWHERE! It was quite the festival. We had a great time just hanging out and enjoying the day. We're both throughly burnt now so please excuse our bright red skin. 

Happy 4th of July!!!

Shawn and I had an adventurous 4th of July weekend. Part of that adventure took us to my Aunt Bonnie's house in Pocatello, Idaho. Ahh...Idaho...


We had the opportunity to carpool with my Sister and her daughter. Shawn rode in the back seat with Em, and you can see how excited she was about that!

When we got to Idaho, we headed over to ISU's campus to participate in a newly formed tradition of setting up a Slip N Slide.
Its a blast, and I did my best to smile for the camera!


Em even went down, with a little help and support from her good cousin Lexi. She kept shouting "Again Again--This Fun."

I couldn't help posting this. My dad is so cute. He didn't go down, but he helped take lots of fun pictures.

This was only one small portion of our weekend, but I wanted to share it. It was great to watch a parade, barbeque, watch fireworks (and get hit in the face with ash b/c you were so close), and most importantly spend time with family and friends. The weekend was over too quickly, but that's okay. There's always next year!

Rodizio Grill, Can I say Brazil?

Last night Shawn and I had the opportunity to go out to dinner with two of Shawn's old mission companions (but really just our friends now), Chris and his wife Erin, and Mark the Photographer. In lou of Mark being in town from New York and Chris and Erin passing some super hard tests we decided to go to Rodizio Grill. The food was super good--especially the pineapple. By the end of the evening the servers would just bring the pineapple straight to our table because we kept asking for it. It was pretty funny. It was really enjoyable to sit and chat with friends. Luckily because Mark is a photographer and carries his camera everywhere we now have some memories of the evening. I'm not sure how this will work, but I convinced Mark to email me the photos...so if you just follow the link http://www.mlwphotos.com/download/photos you should be able to see all of us after we stuffed ourselves and left the restaurant. And you should definitely check out Mark's Blog (http://mlwphotos.blogspot.com/) because he's amazing! It turned out to be a great evening, and I hope we get to do it again sometime soon... Oh and yes, I always look like a dork in photos...Its a gift!

Taylorsville Dayzz

On Saturday evening Shawn and I had the priviledge of attending "Taylorsville Dayzz". It was sweet! There were all these different booths and rides and there were two stages. One of which had a Neil Diamond impersonator. This guy really looked and sounded just like him! It was fabulous. Shawn and I got churros, and we splurged and got a plate of Fry-Bread with honey butter. Talk about delicious! Then it was time for the firework show. The Neil Diamond guy sang, "We're coming to America," with the fireworks, the timing was probably dead on. Then just normal music played through the speakers for the rest of the show. I love fireworks. They are so amazing and so fun went put to music. It was a really great, almost free evening.

Shawn and I are becoming masters at the self portrait. I really like this picture of us. We took one other picture, but I don't know if Shawn will let me post it. It was us in the dark right before the fireworks. I was totally excited because it kinda turned out. You could actually see our faces!

Okay, so maybe it wasn't as good as I thought...we are in there promise!
